Chisinau (key-she-now) is the capitol of Moldova and where I travel at least once a week for HUB site. Chisinau is about 20 minutes South of Stauceni, where I am currently living and about two hours south of Balti, where I will live, beginning August 1st. The city is home to just under 700,000 people and counts Leo Tolstoy among its former residents.
HUB site days, usually Thursday, are the day of the week where all of the M28 (28th group of Peace Corps Volenteers in Moldova) PCTs get together in a University library to learn about health, safety, various other Peace Corps topics and procedures, as well as to get shots. The University we are at is called ASEM and is the Economic University in Moldova. Besides being known as a good University it is also know for it’s dress code – that is that its students dress well. Throughout the city of Chisinau and on the University’s campus you see a lot of great style.
