On August 22nd, five college friends, one post-college friend, Max, a school friend of his and I hopped on a plane to the Rui Montego Bay in Jamaica for a fun filled five days of lots of sun, sand, reading, laughing, volleyball and making some new friends.
We learned there are almost no rules at a resort in Jamaica, except no food in the pool (that’s actually a pretty good one – that water was probably gross enough without) and you can’t hop off the sail boats while they’re out at sea, even though you’re all wearing life vests (guess there’s liability issues everywhere).
One of the new friends we made on the beach in Jamaica lived in DC and another has moved to the area since and both have become honorary members of our friend group. It was a great trip, where I got a chance to get closer to some great people and form so many memories (DIEGO, green lighting, ect.) that are still referenced often (sorry to the rest of you who have to listen to us laugh and reminisce on this). I’m thankful to have had this time with these people – to have traveled with them, to have created these bonds – could not have asked for a better group.
